Description
Fruits and vegetables are full of water and are excellent for hydration. However, remind your campers that eating fruits and vegetables does not replace the need to drink water! The goal of this activity is to name fruits and vegetables that your campers know.
- Stand in the center of the circle with a ball and throw it to one camper at a time. When a camper catches the ball, they must quickly name a fruit or vegetable.
- If a camper cannot name a fruit or vegetable quickly, they must sit down.
- The camper is still in the game and must be able to name a fruit or vegetable on a subsequent turn to get back up.
Goal(s)
This game helps campers learn about different ways to stay hydrated and encourages the group to discuss the fruits and vegetables they know.
Tips and tricks
- If you want to make the game more challenging, you can add specific characteristics to the fruits and vegetables that your campers need to name.
- For example, while throwing the ball, you could say “red,” and the camper receiving the ball would need to name a red fruit or vegetable.
- You could also ask the campers to alternate between fruits and vegetables.
- For instance, if the previous camper named a fruit, the next one should name a vegetable, and so on.
Required material
- A ball
