Description

Place youth in a large circle and position yourself in the center. Throw the ball at random to a young person, who must catch it and quickly shout the name of a fruit or vegetable.

Skill(s)

  • Healthy eating knowledge
  • Motor skills

Suggested variant(s)

  • To make the game more challenging, have the players alternate between fruits and vegetables. For example, if the first camper names a fruit, the next one has to name a vegetable.
  • When you throw the ball, call out a colour. The player who catches the ball must name a fruit or vegetable of that colour to stay in the game. If they can’t, the next player must try to name a fruit or veggie of that colour.
  • Form teams of two and throw the ball at the team.
  • To follow Public Health recommendations: point the campers instead of rolling the ball.

Goal(s)

Explain to youth that in addition to drinking water, you can also eat water because there is water hidden in food.

Required material(s)

  • A ball
